Mumbai – Barefoot NGO

The Barefoot Acupuncturist is a humanitarian organization established in 2007 by Belgian founder Walter Fischer. Operating in the slums of Mumbai and the rural areas of Tamil Nadu, the organization is dedicated to delivering efficient and affordable medical care to the most impoverished individuals.

The Barefoot Acupuncturists establish cost-effective clinics in disadvantaged regions to provide treatment for those lacking access to healthcare.
Additionally, they endeavor to train individuals from shanty towns and villages in acupuncture, empowering them to work autonomously within their communities.
The pictures were sold in the “We need needles” auction to support the organization.
